Trattoria
by Susan DiPlacido
Trattoria is a complicated and spicy story of three siblings: big brother Cyrus,
middle sister Lucy, and baby sister Valentina. Living in Las Vegas, the siblings run a
trattoria that's in financial trouble. Each is trying to find happiness and love to add
meaning to their lives.
When sensible Lucy hires Danny as a waiter, things start to heat up. Danny wants to
pursue an acting career, so Cy and Lucy hire him to date Val in order to get her used to
dating a gentleman. Lucy soon realizes that Danny is dating the wrong sister and things
begin to boil from then on. Can everyone find love and save the trattoria before the
last page?
Susan DiPlacido has written a spicy page-turner with vibrant characters and a very
interesting story. It is easy to get caught up in the world of the characters and DiPlacido
keeps you reading until the very last page. I was surprised that this book was self-published.
DiPlacido definitely has the genre down and has the talent to create a good story from
start to finish. My only criticism is that the book could use some editing and proofreading.
The book is fine as is, but it could be even more gripping and have a smoother flow with
some streamlining from an editor. With a few revisions, I wouldn't be surprised to see
this book republished by a major house. Watch out for this author. DiPlacido can definitely
make a name for herself in the romance genre if she wants to. |
