Trouble in High Heels

by Christina Dodd

Brandi Michaels moved from Tennessee to Chicago to be near her fiancé, only to find out soon after her arrival that he went to Vegas to marry his pregnant girlfriend.  Brandi is not hurt but very mad so she goes to hock her engagement ring, collecting enough for her new earrings and a day of being treated like a queen.  She also makes a decision to buy a "get a man dress", as she has plans to find her a lover for the night.

At a party given by an old family friend, Brandi meets Roberto Bartolini and spends the most glorious weekend with him, never realizing exactly who he is.   Even when she arrives home to find her new apartment ransacked, she is determined to put Roberto in the past, so what if he was a great lover, she did not want any more serious relationships.

Roberto knew who Brandi was after he heard her phone call the next morning, but he never said a word.  Therefore, when Brandi arrives for her first day at work, she discovers her client is none other than jewel thief Roberto.  Brandi is given the job of taking Roberto to the Judge and keeping him out of trouble, a task that ends up with Roberto in Brandi’s custody.  Now they must spend day and night together.  Circumstances quickly change as they find that someone is following them. Roberto is determined to find out what is going on, as he deals with threats to his family and tries to keep Brandi safe.

Trouble in High Heels is an excellent read, which no romance fan will want to miss.  Ms. Dodd is a magnificent storyteller who will have her readers picturing this wonderful story as they read.  With a masterful plot and amazing characters, this is definitely a book not to be missed.
