Autumn in Scotland
by Karen Ranney
High in the Scottish mountains, Charlotte Havensham travels to Castle Balfurin to find her missing husband, George
MacKinnon, Earl of Marne. The rogue married her in a whirlwind and left her in London after only one night of
passion. She holds out dreams that he had a good reason for abandoning her, but her romantic fantasies are shattered
when she finds a rundown castle and no sign of the Earl. She refuses to allow what she finds to break her spirit
and channels her energy into rebuilding the castle to the great structure it once was and decides to open a
prestigious girl’s school.
Five years pass, and one day an unexpected visitor crashes the castle walls. Charlotte mistakes him for her
husband who she thinks has come home to claim his rightful place. Unbeknownst to her, the stranger is the Earl’s
notorious cousin, Dixon MacKinnon. Dixon is a man who has traveled the world, but never before has he found
someone as enchanting as Charlotte. He plays the ruse to his full benefit, but secrets have a way of being
revealed and when the truth is brought to light, there will be hell to pay.
Karen Ranney is an author who knows how to spin the perfect historical novel. With each book I have the
privilege of reading I grow more in love with her characters; each one of them holds a special place in my heart.
Very highly recommended. |
