Bite Me If You Can

by Lynsay Sands

While walking home from work in the wee hours of the morning, Leigh is approached by and bitten by a rogue vampire (a very bad vampire who refuses to live by the vampires’ code of ethics).

When Lucian (a very good vampire) arrives on the scene, he hopes Leigh has not yet been given the vampire blood. Then he would only have to erase her memory and send her on her way. But since she's already been given the blood, it's too late for that, and she is already in transition from human to vampire. Now she will require care and training.

Lucian's life takes a drastic turn off its otherwise predictable course with Leigh’s unexpected arrival. Lucian had fully intended to turn Leigh over into his sister-in-law’s care and not give her a passing thought. Unfortunately, things don't work out that way and Lucian, tired and dismayed as he is, finds himself burdened with Leigh's care and training.

The first sign of trouble is when Lucian is not able to read Leigh's thoughts. This only happens from one vampire to another if the other is your life-mate. Lucian accepts that Leigh is destined to be his life partner; now how is he going to convince Leigh of this? With one abusive marriage behind her, Leigh has vowed to never give her heart to another man. Leigh soon realizes it's not Lucian she distrusts, but herself.

Bite Me If You Can by Lynsay Sands is a sweet and beautiful romance. I enjoyed the writing of Lynsay Sands and look forward to reading many more of her books in the future. I especially appreciated the warmth and feelings generated in the story. This was a thoroughly enjoyable book.
