Clemmie’s Major

by Lesley-Anne McLeod

Countess Clementina "Clemmie" Carmelth’s life was turned upside down the day her husband met with his untimely death. She knew that she had to be strong for her unborn son. Giving birth to his lone heir signified a love that would never be forgotten. For each time she looked into Kit’s eyes, it was as though her husband’s soul would always live on.

When she receives word that her family is in need of her calming presence, she makes the decision to return home to her family with her 5 year old son. She has always been known to be the strong one of the family, and knows that once again she must assume this position to restore peace to her family. With her brother missing in Waterloo, she knows that she must take charge and lead her family towards the light of salvation.

While she journeys to her family’s estate, she meets Major Gideon Rhyle who has become separated from his unit due to his injury. His injury doesn’t take away from the immediate attraction she feels for him. In him, she sees a man who refuses to let any limitation slow him down; his strength and determination appeal to her.

Clemmie is concerned with Kit’s safety; lately he has been involved in accidents that have her questioning his safety. His latest one has her enlisting the help of Major Gideon Rhyle. Although he agrees to help, he does not see himself as a worthy man to satisfy a woman like Clemmie. Can she convince him the feelings she has are real and worth exploring? With danger lurking in the shadows, will their love be snuffed out before it is given a chance to bloom?

Lesley-Anne McLeod is the Queen of Historical Romance, her writing is spun in pure gold. Yet again, she offers another award winning novel to add to her growing treasure chest. This story is assured to tug at your heart as you fall in love with the delightful characters. Very highly recommended.
