Confessions of a Viscount

by Shirley Karr

Charming Charlotte loves her role as spy for the Crown. While on a mission, she literally hooks up with a perfect stranger who turns out to be Alistair, Viscount Moncreiffe, amateur astronomer.

Steven, her brother, decides he has been remiss in not encouraging Charlotte to behave more like a young woman. Instead of teaching her how to throw a knife, he should have taught her how to behave in a more missish manner.

Alistair determines which Town invitations to attend by the host’s rooftop view of the heavens. When he’s out on the roof, he can enjoy the quiet - until the night he sees Charlotte hanging from her fingertips several stories off the ground. Saving her gives him cause to hold her in his arms, which is precisely how his father discovers them. A quick conference, and Charlotte and Alistair realize that becoming engaged would solve both of their problems. The understanding is that once Charlotte retrieves a missing item she’s been seeking, the engagement will end.

Ms. Karr takes the reader on a wonderful, madcap adventure through London ballrooms and rooftops. Confessions of a Viscount is an absolutely delightful read.
