Conspiracy Game
GhostWalker series #4

by Christine Feehan

Adopted into the Jenkins family, Briony doesn’t find it odd to be part of a trapeze circus act. Her brothers are a bit overprotective, but since she’s the only girl in the family and suffers from extreme empathy, making it difficult for her to be around the crowds of people she faces every day, she appreciates their concern and protectiveness. When she meets Jack Norton, an old military buddy of her brother’s, she realizes that it’s her turn to protect them.

Jack Norton is a GhostWalker - a genetically enhanced telepathic warrior. When he meets Briony in an African jungle, he is stunned to learn that she does not know that she too is a GhostWalker, nor has she developed her special gifts, though she was able to save him. In turn, he teaches Briony that he can shield her from the sensory overload that batters at her every day. He is her anchor.

Later, when they meet again, Briony becomes pregnant, and her brothers insist that she see her own special doctor - the same doctor who engineered her special talents and now wants her baby. When she arrives at Jack’s mountain retreat, she finally meets his brother, Ken, another GhostWalker. More important, she learns that Jack is her anchor in more ways than one.

In Conspiracy Game, the fourth of Christeen Feehan’s GhostWalker series, there are just as many edge-of-your-seat scenes as tender ones. The characters are immensely likable and very real. Ruthless, cold-blooded Jack wants to be what Briony and the soon-to-be-born baby needs, from cradling Briony in his arms to building a cradle. This book is definitely an exciting, entertaining and romantic read. I had a hard time putting it down.
