Meet Mia Mitchell, a tough-as-nails cop, working for the Chicago Police
Department. She has recently returned to active duty after both she
and her partner were shot while on duty. Mia intends to spend her
time back at work hunting down the assailant who tried to end both
their lives.
Now meet Reed Sullivan. Reed is a deeply devoted arson inspector on the trail of a firebug who seems to be
accelerating in his crimes. When the arsonist adds murder to his repertoire, Reed is forced to take on a partner
in his pursuit of this investigation.
Mia is highly irritated about being pulled off the pursuit of the shooter, and Reed is in no way happy about
being paired with a feisty, beautiful, but tough-as-nails cop who has been assigned to help him in his hunt for
what is now a serial killer
Reed feels that Mia may have returned to active duty too soon, and Mia has her doubts about the handsome arson
investigator's actions as well.
As the pair work through their doubts, they begin to find themselves not only coming to trust and respect each
other, but also becoming attracted to each other. Little do they realize that the arsonist serial killer has chosen
Mia as his next victim.
Karen Rose is becoming a force to be reckoned with in the Romantic
suspense genre. Her development of characters and plot holds the
reader hostage, a captive until the last page is turned. I look
forward to reading more by Ms. Rose.
