Kicking Sideways

by Dina Keratsis

Don't let the name of this book fool you. It's an amazing read, that keeps you wanting to see what happens to the main character, Lucretia, (also known as Cree to her friends).

Cree has had a hard life and according to her, her main mission in life is to save people from the terrible lives that they have endured.  The problem is, while she is taking care of others, no one is taking care of her, not even herself!

In walks Michael Sullivan, a man with no agenda, no commitments in life, and no direction. He just wants to escape for a time, find a meaningless job and see the way others live on the other side of the country.  But what he doesn't know is that he is walking into a situation tthat will really make his life topsy-turvey, but leave him wanting more, more that is from Cree.

This is a book that you won't want to put down. The two main characters are so different, yet so similar. One lacks the strength to take control of his own life and the other seems to have everything that she needs and wants, except the perfect mate. Running away from what's good seems to be a common thread. You will need to read the book to see what happens!

The author, Dina Keratsis, writes the kind of stories that parallel real life issues and situations. It's a story that you will relate to and if you're like I am, you will wish the book would never end.
