Yale Professor Ellen Layne makes the decision to help support her teenager’s acting dreams by spending the summer
in New York. Her Uncle, Bob Osbourne, is a well-known talk show host who has generously opened up his home to her
and her family. His kindness and support has given them the chance of a lifetime to turn their dreams into reality.
When her uncle is unable to pick up his wife at the airport, Ellen readily volunteers to help him out of the
dilemma. While she is waiting at the airport, she encounters a man like no other she has ever seen. She is
immediately drawn to NYPD Detective Sam Schaefer and so captivated by him that she throws caution to the wind and
sets out to seduce him.
Her plan works and the two have a quick fling in the back of a limo. Ellen is ashamed at how her actions have
gotten so out of control. She vows to never see Sam again, but as the days pass, her thoughts keep returning to
their brief affair. The couple’s paths cross once again when she finds herself being stalked by an unknown
assailant. The notes he writes send chills up her spine and it is up to Sam to protect her from the madman.
Ladies’s Man is a book long sought by a loyal fan of Suzanne Brockmann. Having read almost everything
this author has written I was thrilled at the opportunity to be the reviewer for this audio. (Some noteworthy
history concerning this book: it was originally published as a free giveaway by the publisher and only 200 copies
were ever printed. With fans quickly holding on to their copies, this quickly made the book a collector’s item for
true Brockmann readers.) As expected, this book was well worth the wait. It provided an action-packed rush that has
made the author a legend. Every element of this story was perfectly played out; the characters are two that will
surely win a place in readers’ hearts. Very highly recommended.
