Mending Fences

by Sherryl Woods

For the past ten years Marcie Carter and Emily Dobbs have been the best of friends. As neighbors they have shared their lives’ triumphs and joys and confided in each other in times of need. Their children, being close in age, have always shared a close connection. When Marcie’s son Evan is accused of rape Emily refuses to believe he is capable of such a crime. She quickly goes to Marcie’s side to offer her comfort and support.

Police Detective Grady Rodriguez is convinced that Evan is guilty of the charges against him. To learn more of the teen’s dark secrets he goes to question Dani Dobbs. Her mother Emily refuses to have her daughter harassed. He can understand her concerns but he knows by Dani's withdrawn attitude that she can add something to help his case.

As Grady’s investigation rises to a new level his attraction to Emily intensifies. Emily sees Grady as a man for whom her heart has been searching, but she is torn by her feelings. She feels like if she allows Grady into her heart she will be betraying her long friendship with Marcie.

Sherryl Woods has always been one of my all time favorite authors. She has a unique ability to make her characters seem so life-like you feel as though each one of them has a place in your heart. Mending Fences is another heartwarming tale that is assured to capture your heart. Very highly recommended.
