The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever

by Julia Quinn

Miranda Cheever grew up in a family that didn’t realize she existed. Her mother died when she was young and her father was busy with his manuscripts. Miranda is a plain and simple girl who befriends the ever popular Olivia Bevelstoke. Their relationship spans their early adult years and beyond.

Miranda spends pretty much all of her time with the Bevelstokes and becomes a very big part of the family, so much so that Lady Rutland insists that Miranda accompany Olivia for her coming out season. So off to London they all go. Now, mind you, Miranda is a very good and proper young lady, always doing what is expected of her, until she falls in love with Nigel Bevelstoke, Viscount Turner, Olivia’s older brother by 9 years.

Turner has his own issues, the first being his wife Leticia, who took his love and his heart and stomped all over them. In the end, she was killed while riding a horse to see her lover! Turner looks at Miranda as a sister, or does he? Though he tries to deny it, his heart is smitten by the much younger girl, and his body reacts every time they are together.  No one realizes the bond that they share.

This is a book that you will not want to put down because you will be hoping that Turner will finally act on his feelings for Miranda. Will they finally get together as husband and wife? Will Miranda finally get the man that she has been secretly in love with all of her life? Will Turner finally realize that he is in love with this girl, and tell her so? Keep reading to find the answers and enjoy yourself along the way!
