Skin Deep

by Jamie Cortland

Skin Deep by Jamie Cortland is an interesting book which kept moving right along. I have never read any other books by this author, but as I got into this book, I was inspired to look to see what else she has written. The writing style is unique and while the book is short on pages, it’s long on detail and suspense.

Evelyn Valentino discovers that her husband Thomas is cheating on her with a co-worker, or thinks he is, so they separate and ultimately divorce. They have a 4 1/2 year old daughter, Chrissie, who spends her time with both parents. With her divorce in the past, Evelyn discovers she is very lonely. She is not looking for love, but love finds her in a least expected place, looking for a new town home.

James McMann is a very handsome and successful business man out looking for the love of his life. While his past life is not without many women and tragedy, he believes this time around things will be different, or will they?

By sheer coincidence Evelyn and James meet and he falls in love with her at first sight. She is very attracted to him and her daughter Chrissie calls him Stranger Danger. Maybe we should all listen to our children, sometimes they know best!

Enjoy this very quick read and if you are like me, you will be searching for more Jamie Cortland books!
