Star of the Morning
A Novel of the Nine Kingdoms

by Lynn Kurland

To be a star, you must shine your own light, follow your own path, and don't worry about the darkness, for that is when the stars shine brightest. ~Unknown.

The Kingdom of Neroche is surrounded in darkness and evil brought about by the black mage. Only one thing can bring light back into the land; that would be for two magical swords to be held by the Neroche’s King. Legend has it one of these swords resides in a woman’s possession.

Morgan of Melksham has always rejected anything magical. As an orphan she grew up depending on her own cunning ability to survive. As an adult she is known as a skilled mercenary swordswoman. She reluctantly agrees to help her foster father by agreeing to take a magical knife to the King of Neroche.

On Morgan’s journey to the Kingdom, she is joined by three friends and a stranger named Adhmar. The road to the castle is filled with much danger and obstacles. There are many evil forces that are determined to keep her from fulfilling her promise. Will she be strong enough to conquer the enemy and fulfill the legendary prophesy?

Fantasy fans will rejoice when they read Lynn Kurland’s Star of the Morning. This book is the perfect foundation for a series that is assured to be long remembered. Short on romance but high on fantasy elements this book provides a unique blend of time-honored features such as dragons, dwarves and even a beloved elf. I predict the Nine Kingdoms series will be one that will hit the top book charts.
