Take Me
by Lucy Monroe
Jared, Viscount Ravenswood, is "The Beast" to the Ton because of the facial scar he got years earlier when saving
his sister from a wild beast. But The Beast has a tender heart, and those who know him are aware of it. When his
dying friend and housekeeper asks him to introduce her daughter to the Duchess of Clairborne, he agrees, but is
reluctant to follow through. He knows little about the Duchess, but knows the reputation of her deceased husband.
Surely, anyone who lived with him has to have an evil nature, in spite of her nickname, "Angel." When Jared meets
Calantha, the Duchess, at his sister’s house party, she is not at all what he expects.
Calantha never anticipated her attraction to Jared. She is not at all surprised that all of her maternal
instincts are raised when she meets Hannah, whom she initially thinks is Jared’s daughter. She would put up with
anything to have a child of her own. There are others out there who think Calantha should never have a child - or
anything else.
Using the offer of protection as an excuse, Jared and Calantha agree to marry. But the threats don’t stop. When
someone kidnaps Hannah and leaves a trail to Calantha as the culprit, the couple’s very love and trust are put to
the test.
Take Me is a wonderfully satisfying read! Ms. Monroe delivers an emotional story that pulls you along
from the first page to the very end. |
