When I Fall in Love
by Lynn Kurland
Jennifer McKinnon wants to find a man like her sister
has -- a loyal, handsome protector. She eventually gives up on Manhattan
and takes a trip across the pond. Visiting her family leads her
to a time gate and another century. Just before she passes through,
Jennifer sees the 3 ghost that readers are made aware of from the
beginning. They are a fun trio and don't get enough scenes, as far
as I'm concerned. Their goal is to get Jennifer together with Nicholas
de Piaget 800 years in the past. It seems they've set up other relatives
living in different eras.
Nicholas' grandmother sets up a dinner with way
too many young women. Her goal is to see him married. He escapes
without a commitment, but runs heart first into one later. Her name
is Jennifer. She's dressed in clothes he and his brothers recognize
from the future. Another family member came from the present and
Nicolas refused to believe it at the time. Now Nicolas faces the
woman who has captured his heart. He's not sure how to win her love
or what to do if she actually makes it back to the 21 st century.
It's
a sweet story of love across time. There's plenty of humor and romance
to entertain. Romance readers will fall head over heels for Nicholas.
He's a man's man with a kind spirit. Kurland has a gift for time
travel romances. I've enjoyed some of her other titles. She presents
strong characters and romantic storylines, but it's those flawless,
descriptive scenes that catapult me from my living room into places
like the 13 th century. Where I can walk the fields and explore
the castles with characters like Nicholas and Jennifer. It's a splendid
way to escape reality, even if it's just for a few hours. Highly
Recommended.
