Seriously, what's not to love about a book with the title Stakes & Stilettos?  I know I found it a fascinating read.  Characters who have appeared in all of Ms. Rowan's books about Sarah are back in full force.  The sensuality is off the charts and readers will not want to let their guard down or skip a page as Sarah and Thierry are subjected to Witches, Red Devils and a wife who tries to curtail their romance in this almost-afraid-to-hope-it-will-work-out journey of love.

Ms. Rowan's fourth book in this series continues the story of vampire fledgling Sarah Dearly.  Turned by a blind date vampire into a creature of the night, Sarah is rescued in book one by handsome, sensual, and want-to-commit-suicide Master vamp Thierry and promptly falls in love.  Now, several exciting books later, she still loves the older than dirt immortal.

Sarah's love life begins to look up when her boyfriend vamp begins to get serious about a lasting relationship.  For vampires that could be centuries of serious love and lust.  Before she can get too excited about the eternity ring he gives her, since he can't marry her until his first and only wife (sire) agrees to a divorce, Sarah is staked through the heart.  Now, riding to the rescue is a caped vampire called The Red Devil.  With the scar of all scars to remind her she almost died, Sarah takes a road trip to her high school reunion—Thierry at her side and sidekick George riding shotgun.  Once she is among the elite of her youth, Sarah is cursed by an evil witch she was rude to in high school.  With the curse fast turning her into a Nightwalker, something no respectable vamp wants to be, Sarah must find a way to break it before it's too late.
