Persys Timothy lives with her aunt and cousin as her cousin’s companion until her cousin, Miss Katherine Talbot, gets married. Now Persys is left alone with a bleak outlook on the future. The Duke of Eddington, though, is intent on changing that situation. He offers her a position as a companion for his injured mother. As Persys becomes closer and closer to being ensnared by the duke’s campaign of love, she almost ruins it all because the thought of falling head-over-heels for a duke is absurd to her, and says that she never plans to marry. Can the Duke win her heart before she leaves to search for another position?

This story is very cute. The duke’s antics to try and win Persys’ heart is so romantic that it made me want to jump into the book and hit her in the head. Using Persys’ exotic Persian looks and name was a very nice touch. I really don’t think the story could’ve been better without it. The characters are very well written and original. I loved it.
