The Trigger is a story about a man called Dr. Horton and his invention -- a machine that, in the hands of the good guys, can make the bad guy’s weapons harmless.  Two of Dr. Horton’s collogues, Lee and Gordon, decide to take The Trigger out for a field test. They try the weapon on some gang members in Cleveland Heights, Ohio that had been bothering Lee’s stepsister. They vaporized the problem with the gang members, but open up the door of their secret invention to the world, causing Dr. Horton to be kidnapped and become a prisoner of war. After the Special Forces commandos rescue him, Dr. Horton contemplates his second chance with his new invention.

The technology mentioned in “The Trigger” is remarkable. The thought of a weapon which can destroy all other weapons is intriguing and wishful thinking on many of our parts. This sci-fi thriller kept me riveted, I even went back and read parts of it again; I was so impressed.
