This duet of books follow on after the final episode of Deep Space Nine, so if your TV network hasn't screened it yet then be warned: this contains many plot spoilers. If you have seen the entire series and are now feeling bereft that you will no longer be seeing all the characters you know and love then this will reunite you with most of them again. The plot cannot be described in too much detail here due to the aforementioned spoilers but it concerns the possibilities of a terrible new war, an unborn child and an ancient Bajoran book of prophecies. It also rounds up most of the cast and, rather like first day of term after the summer vacation lets you know how everybody is getting along. Unfortunately, this 518-page story just doesn't have enough in it to be that long. You could easily fit it into half that and still have room to spare but I have been following it on terrestrial BBC TV in England and we still have quite a few episodes to see so it doesn't have the appeal that I imagine it would do if I hadn't seen the characters for a long time.
