Penn and Chandelle have
a problem. Their fifteen-year-old granddaughter, Llynn, is becoming too
much for her working parents. In an effort to regain control and discipline,
they are renting a house in Philadelphia so Llynn can spend the summer
with them. But they have to find the perfect house.
This house seemed to
be ideal, and it came furnished. They knew they wanted it, but they didn't
think they could afford the rent, even though the first month was free.
It was such a nice house, and beautifully furnished. So, the house tried
a little harder to entice them. The kitchen was stocked with all the foods
they liked and the closet contained clothes in their taste and sizes,
even to the shoes. And the back door was absolutely fascinating. Though
they were in the middle of the city, there was a forest in the back yard.
And when they went outside, the house disappeared! And the panel at the
front door seemed to move them to other cities. Could Llynn help them
solve the mystery of the house?
Piers Anthony has long
been a favorite author of mine, and REALTY CHECK is a perfect example
of the imagination he displays in his work. Here, renting a house is an
adventure I would love to take. He gives a whole new meaning to the phrase,
"mobile home."
