Horizon Storms
The
Saga of Seven Suns, No. 3
By Kevin J. Anderson
"The
Saga of Seven Suns," which began in "Hidden Empire"
and "A Forest of Stars", continues with book 3. Now, the
Hydrogues are attacking other races besides the humans. Though Mage-Imperator
Jora'h has had the joy of seeing his brother, Rusa'h regain consciousness,
he still wonders about his brother's health. He cannot sense him
through the thism. He wonders if his brother is truly healed.
In the meantime, Basil Wenceslas has
grown more determined to gain control of the entire Spiral Arm.
However, he seems to be losing his mind and his grip on reality.
He has sent his lover, Sarein, back to Theroc to take control of
that world, since she is now the oldest living offspring of the
present rulers. She does not want to go, because she wants to stay
with Wenceslas. She is blindly in love with him and cannot see what
he's doing to himself and everyone else.
Also, Jess Tamblyn, who was
stranded on the unknown world where he had brought the wentals,
can return to his people in the strange ship the aliens made of
seawater and coral. Though he cannot touch another human being without
electrocuting them, he can now enlist the aid of his people to spread
the wentals throughout the spiral arm. They did not need a habitable
planet, just an ocean.
As in the two previous books, the
point of view changes often. However, with the enormous scope of
this story, the jump back and forth is necessary. However, there
are more chapters that end with cliffhangers, very interesting ones.
I am glad this story has been expanded from three volumes to many
more. I can hardly wait for the next one!
