Stolen
Women
of the Otherworld Book II
By Kelley Armstrong
This
is the follow-up to Bitten, which introduced the feisty Elena Michaels,
who has the distinction of being the only female werewolf around.
Now she is part of a rather special pack, but is soon in trouble
following an advert for a website selling knowledge about werewolves.
This is all part of a so-called “scientific investigation”
of non-human beings dreamed up by unscrupulous billionaire Tyrone
Winsloe - but why does he want the information and what is he going
to do with it?
Following in the wake of the success of
Buffy and Laurell K Hamilton, sassy ass-kicking women with super
powers are selling books, and here is another to add to the collection.
One of the better ones in my opinion, told in the first person by
the spirited Elena, and full of werewolf culture that brings the
tale to life. There is nothing new about prison break stories (or
werewolves either) but combine the two, crank up the pace, stir
in some humor, and you have yourself a good lively novel. It could
stand some editing and gets a bit repetitive at times, but at the
conclusion there are loose ends that beg to be tied up in a third
novel. If this type of thing is your taste, then this book ought
to rate fairly high.
