The Blue Flame
Daradawn Series, No. 1
by Barbara M. Hodges
For seven years, Kelsey Cafferty has lived in the world of Daradawn, helping protect the
people, along with the Queen of Daradawn from the sinister Dirkk and his army of Ru-taha
and Black Vipers. Now the rift that opened seven years before will be opening again, but
instead of going home to her own world, Kelsey is sending the mage Peter to find and
return with her sister Regan. As the Queen's Commander, Kelsey knows she will need all
the power she can summon to fight the evil Dirkk and with Regan's magic, she believes
they will have a good chance to defeat their enemy.
Regan has believed her sister to be dead for seven years until Peter comes to her with
an amazing story of Kelsey being in another world, one straight out of childhood dreams
and storybooks, and at first she does not believe him. That is, until she feels the unexplained
need to follow him. Regan soon begins to learn that she has magic. With Peter's help,
Regan will have to learn to properly use her magic to save her sister and the people of
Daradawn.
This reviewer was completely captivated by this amazing tale of romantic fantasy. A
rich tapestry, woven with smart detail, amazing characters and an equally amazing plot,
The Blue Flame kept me completely enthralled. This is Ms. Hodges' first book in
the Daradawn Series and I for one can hardly wait to begin reading her second book in
this series, The Emerald Dagger. |
