At the ending of the first book of the Daradawn series The Blue Flame, Kelsey left
through the rift to go back to her own world, leaving behind the man she loved, after
she discovers his wife and son are alive. Now seven years later the rift has opened again
as it does every seven years. Although she has her career and a man she plans to marry,
Kelsey has plans to return to Daradawn to visit with her sister and her family.
Before she can leave, she has an unexpected visitor when Delilah, a woman claiming to
be Ben's daughter, arrives at her door. Kelsey doesn't realize that Delilah will follow
her through the rift in hopes of finding her father.
Upon arriving in Daradawn Kelsey finds that her sister has children, but things are not
as happy as they seem. Regan's young son feels ignored and Regan feels that Peter puts
her and the children second to the queen. However, when tragedy strikes Regan will do
all she can to save her family. The evil Dirkk has returned to Daradawn with a new threat:
he is turning wolves and faeries into his evil army.
With Peter injured and Regan and her son missing, Kelsey and Rourke have to work together
to destroy Dirkk before it is too late. However, no one knows that Dirkk is determined
to have Regan as his queen to rule all of Daradawn, consequently bringing new conflicts
to this wonderful story.
The Emerald Dagger is yet another captivating tale of fantasy. With unique
characters both old and new, this magnificent story of the fantasy world Daradawn will
keep readers completely entertained from the first page until the last. This is Ms. Hodges's
second book in the Daradawn Series and I for one can hardly wait to begin reading her
third and final book in this series, The Silver Angel.
