Superman Returns
Based on the Warner Bros. Pictures Film

by Marv Wolfman

Superman goes back to planet Krypton only to find that the transmission from his home planet was false. All that was left was a graveyard of crystals. His trip lasts five years, and upon returning to Earth he reprises his role as Clark Kent and goes back to work for the Daily Planet. A lot has changed while he was gone. Lois is a mom and engaged, her son is five years old.

Lex Luthor is the main villain in this story. He gets help from Kitty and an entourage of bad guys he has met in prison. They go to Superman’s Fortress of Solitude to steal the crystals. These crystals are to be the keystone in Lex Luthor’s evil plan to destroy Superman and become rich.

The book is really good. It was easy to follow the story, I think even someone with limited knowledge of the comic book hero and movies would still be able to enjoy this book. Superman Returns is written descriptively and emotionally. The characters’ development in this book makes the characters seem more real and vulnerable.
