The Time Has Come
The Book of Grace, Part I
by Barbara Oleynick
The Time Has Come is the first of a trilogy about a child named Grace. Grace is a
very special child, sent by God to teach humanity to live in peace. Her mother, a thirteen-year-old
girl named Rachel, did not know what was wrong with her until the child was born. The
morning of Grace's birth, Rachel did not know what was about to happen. All she knew was
that she was in the extreme pain, and her belly felt like it was going to rip apart. She
left her apartment and walked down to the sewage plant on Bresco. She thought she was going
to die. Finally, she removed her shorts and lay down to get rid of the thing inside her,
for something was pushing its way out of her.
When the thing was finally out of her, she looked to see what it was. In the approaching
car lights, she saw that a baby lay on the ground. She pulled back in horror, and ran.
She could not take care of another baby. She could not imagine how she came to have one.
She only knew she had enough to do to take care of her six-year-old sister. But God had
sent Grace, so he also sent someone to take care of her.
The Time Has Come is a strong lesson in love. It is the truest kind of love, the
kind that transcends race and circumstances and begins with helping each other to love
and cherish one another, so that mankind may live in harmony and peace. Though I don't
agree with all her views, the message of peace and love is on target. It's the same message
Jesus brought two thousand years ago. It's time we started listening. Read The Time Has
Come and learn that God is still offering us love and peace.
