When
the miserable excuse of a human, William Catch, brought a
bound and gagged girl named Lucy Harker to the headquarters
of Sara Faulk’s group called “The Oversight”
with the intention of selling her, Sara could’ve never
imagined this girl would be the key to either their resurrection
or their defeat. It’s up to Sara, Lucy, Mr. Sharp, Cook,
and the others to help find out Lucy’s connection to
the once great policing agency that protected both the natural
and supernatural and fight the darkness oozing out of the
shadows hell-bent on wiping out the agency completely and
permanently.
This
is an addictive audio, narrated by Simon Prebble. The story
is deep and complex --sometimes hard to follow if there are
any distractions to break the listener’s concentration.
Fortunately, it’s so mesmerizing it’d take quite
a feat to distract anyone from the history, lore, and intense
action being brought to life. It’s the kind of story
that will appeal to a wide range of readers, from lovers of
Victorian mysteries to the fans of twisted and thrilling fantasy.
I recommend it to anyone looking for an exciting listen.
