Woman Power
By Dr. Laura Schlessinger
Wives,
are you in a lackluster marriage? Have you and your husband lost
the romance and affection you once had for each other? If so, Woman
Power, the companion to The Proper Care and Feeding of
Husbands has some ideas for you. This book is written as a
workbook for wives (and their husbands) to help change attitudes
and behaviors that lead to unhappy marriages or even divorce. Dr.
Schlessinger provides an easy to read format and her trademark no-nonsense
approach to help wives empower themselves to make positive changes
in their marriage. Each section provides quotes from readers of
The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands. Dr. Laura also
poses some questions to wives to aid in self-assessment. There is
space to write in answers as well.
Even
if you haven't read The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands,
it doesn't take long to figure out what kinds of information are
in it. The chapters in this book generally begin with questions
and comments from readers of the first book and then reiterate the
information in light of reader testimonies.
At times,
this book can come across as being an infomercial for The Proper
Care and Feeding of Husbands. However, if you have read the
first book, or even if you haven't and you want to utilize the workbook
format, this is a thought provoking read. This would make an excellent
book for a spirited book club discussion as well as being an interesting
self help book.
