ProBodX
Proper Body Exercise

By Marv Marinovich & Edythe M. Heus, D.C.

Looking for an exercise and diet regimen with a low risk of injury and the promise of fast results? Look no further than the ProBodX routine. Developed by Barry Sears, author of The Zone, and Marv Marinovich of the Oakland Raiders, this routine focuses on the "mysterious neuromuscular connection that is the basis for all physical performance."

The low impact exercises included in this book promise to build "Precision of Movement, Optimal Flexibility, Strength, Endurance, and Mental Stamina." A complete workout is provided in words and photographs to help readers exercise properly in the comfort of their own home. The required equipment for exercising are: a gymnastics ball, a pair of hollow weights, slant board, two balance disks and two poles, and two PVC pipes. (All of this equipment can be purchased directly from www.ProBodX.com)

This book provides good verbal as well as visual instruction on how to properly complete each exercise. It also takes you through an entire workout, in order. It gives information and more visuals for doing more complex exercises once you've reached a more advanced level. It even takes into account the mental process of exercising and lists signs of overtraining such as waking up tired, feeling drained between workouts, and feeling sluggish throughout the day. A fair selection of recipes are included in the back in order to completely reshape how you feed your body as well as how you workout.

Overall, this contains a comprehensive workout in an easy to follow layout.

Chapters include different formats to get information across, including lists, boxed sections with tips or true life stories, question and answer format, charts, etc. Black and white photographs are clear and crisply illustrate how exercises are to be executed properly. If you're looking for a new way to get in shape through diet and exercise, this book is worth looking through.
