The Diamond in Your Pocket is an inspirational, thought provoking book. It is well written and easy to
understand.
Gangaji helped me to understand the art of self-inquiry and how to silence my mind. She has helped me to break
free from the bondage of believing that my thoughts are my reality. Without a "story" to back up my thoughts they
simply cease to be. I can choose at this moment to quit telling myself negative stories.
My eyes were opened to how powerful my thoughts are - they are the filler of all my experiences of reality.
The Diamond in Your Pocket is divided into four units. In Unit 1 "Discovering the truth of who you are",
we begin to silence the mind through the art of self-inquiry. To stop looking for happiness and fulfillment in
external things. And to begin recognizing the stories we tell ourselves.
In Unit 2 "The mind, deeper than emotion", we learn to free ourselves from the bondage of believing that
"thoughts" are reality. We give thought the authority to define who we are. As a thought arises we can either
follow that thought or be still. Being still occurs by recognizing the activity of the mind and not following it.
In Unit 3 "Unravelling the knot ot suffering", we learn to stop the suffering by stopping the story.
In Unit 4 "Choosing peace", we now realize how powerful our thoughts are. We now know how to identify and
recognize the stories we tell ourselves.
I hope you will find this book to be a worthwhile addition to add to your collection. I hope it is as
life-altering for you as it was for me.
