Shakti Rhythms

by Various Artists
Composed by Shiva Rea

Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.  ~ Berthold Auerbach

The primitive sounds penetrate your ears as though you are visiting a far off exotic land. The tempo starts off soft and gentle and then rapidly picks up the pace for a very lively experience.

As the title of this audio is explained in further detail, the listener learns that Shakti translates to life energy, vibration, the underlying creation pulsation of life. This definition accurately describes the high energy flow that your body will encounter, once you start with one of its twelve tracks.

Each song has there own special blend and meaning. Combining this music with the fluid movements of Yoga would be a winning combination. The music contained on this CD is set just at the right pace to allow yoga enthusiasts the ability to gain the maximum benefit out of each one of their poses.

I caught myself several times swaying to the tempo while I was writing this review. By listening, as the words to describe it entered my head, I gained a better perspective on all that it had to offer. My thoughts could easily drift off into a fantasy world, where my body is covered in a vast array of scarves and my face is hidden by a sheer veil. I could see myself dancing to the pulsating rhythm that makes each track a unique experience.

Those who seek an adventure into the unknown should definitely add this CD to their collection. I feel each listener will reap his own special reward once tried. Very highly recommended.
