HERBAL ANTIBIOTICS “Natural Alternatives for Treating Drug-Resistant Bacteria” I’m sure at one time or another we have experienced it ourselves or witness others who have had an illness, which resisted the present day antibiotics. After reading his book, I admire Stephen Buhner for bringing this to the forefront, telling it like it is and offering us help. Steve was raised in a family of physicians. He was raised with the belief that we were nearing a time of a disease-free life – until he became ill and modern medicine couldn’t cure him. In his book he answers the question “Is it the End of Antibiotics?” He also gives us detailed lists and explanations of the top 15 antibiotic herbs that can help us. Something I appreciated seeing listed was the mention of External and/or Internal side affects of the herbal medications, because it takes the worry out of trying something new or different. Throughout the book you will find small shaded boxes with added bits of advice or information. Because of where I live I personally found an interest in the recipe for a special steam of Eucalyptus leaves, sage, and juniper leaf for upper respiratory infections and the Natural Nasal Spray Formula for sinus infections. There is something for everyone in this one including some great advice and recipes for childhood aliments. I truly believe this one is worth more than a backward glance at the bookstore. It’s one of those books you will continue to use throughout you and your families' lives. |
