Star is the second book in the Wildflowers series. Star's parents are divorced, and like Misty in the first book, the divorce has caused some major controversy in her life. Her mom’s a major drinker and didn’t want her to begin with and her father has startling reactions to her mothers drinking. Star tells her story of how her parents have made her hate not only herself, but them as well.

I liked this book as much as the first one although the violent nature of this one made me feel like I was watching “Cops.” You will not believe what Star has to live through. The language and storyline really express the pain that a teen feels when their parents don't get along and use them as paybacks against each other. I would recommend this book for older teens and college students.
