Jennie's grandmother is going back to Ireland to deal with her mother's estate. At the same time Jennie researches her family's history. Jennie and her grandmother become caught up in searching for the facts of a friend's family member's possible murder. Jennie is led through adventure and mishap by her cousins and by the people who want Jennie's grandmother to stop searching the past.

The story line is simple, fast-paced and filled with adventure. One does not need to necessarily read the previous books of the series to understand and enjoy the story. The characters are well-developed and each chapter ends with a new adventure or mishap that keeps the reader intrigued and wanting to read more. The series reminds this reader of the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series; it is as well-written and leaves the reader continuing to want more adventures and mysteries.
