Book two of the new SEASONS series.

Samantha is going to spend the summer with her "stepgrandma" on High Cove Island, across the Sound from Seattle. She's not exactly excited by the prospect, but her Dad and his new wife think it would be great for Samantha and Grandma Vi to get acquainted with each other. The island turns out to be a place that doesn't take in outsiders easily, and to make matters worse, Samantha is seasick from the ferry ride when she arrives.

She does start making friends with the local teens and is all set to be in an exciting race as a partner with the cute kayaking instructor, Jason. Then she learns of a secret game that the locals play on the summer visitors, and it could destroy her summer romance and new friendships and send her back to LA for the rest of the summer.

This book is a fun read; well written with an exciting plot and memorable characters. Tween girls will love this series -- they can really relate to the problems of the tweens that live on High Cove Island.
