Queen of the Slayers
Buffy The Vampire Slayer

by Nancy Holder

Any fans of Buffy will have been left wondering what happened after the end of the final episode, when Sunnydale disappeared into the Hellmouth as Buffy and her friends left town in a minibus. Wonder no more - it is all here in this book. Buffy may have been victorious, but a new evil is brewing as one Hellmouth closes, another opens. More and more slayers are being awakened to deal with it all, and Buffy has the unenviable task of training them. When a new "Queen of the Slayers" arises, it is up to the Scoobies to find out who she is, and deal with her.

Like the best episodes of this much-missed series this book is packed with action and incident. Xander in Africa, Buffy being romanced in Rome by the Immortal, Giles re-organizing the Watchers and the Borgias loose just name a few happenings. Werewolves, vampires, demons and more arise to be battled, and it is good to see Xander and Giles with something to do as characters like Dawn take more of a back seat. If this had been a TV episode it would have been memorable, edge-of-the-seat stuff and it made me remember how enjoyable it all used to be.
