MEXICO
Notes from a Spinning Planet series, book # 3

by Melody Carlson

In MEXICO , the third book of the Notes from a Spinning Planet series, Melody Carlson continues the saga of Madison Chase's travel adventures with her Aunt Sid. This time college freshman Maddie leaves her home in Washington State 's farm country to travel with Sid to warm and exotic Cabo San Lucas , Mexico . The trip changes course dramatically when both Aunt Sid's romantic interest, Ian, and Maddie's friend Ryan McIntire on whom she can envision having an enormous crush, surprisingly arrange to join them. To add a less pleasant surprise, Ryan's gorgeous old high school flame, Shelby Wagner, shows up to foil Maddie's romantic plans.

As jealousy rears it ugly head Maddie and Aunt Sid, through unforeseen circumstances, are forced to share accommodations with Shelby which acquaints them with her alcoholic tendencies and leads them to attempt to help her. Confronting this poor-little-rich-girl's problem, Maddie is forced to explore and put into action her deep beliefs in sacrifice, forgiveness and Christian love. Meanwhile, she also involves herself in the life of Francesca, a poor-but-worthy young local woman.

To see if virtue wins out on romantic Cabo beaches you might recommend this easy read book to a high minded teen or even one who thinks booze is the answer to all adolescent questions.
