The Teen Weight-Loss Solution
The Safe
and Effective Path to Health and Self Confidence
By Erika Schwartz, M.D.
Dr.
Schwartz provides guidelines for many parents of overweight teenagers
based on her experiences with clients and her own children in The
Teen Weight-Loss Solution. The Teen Weight-Loss Solution
is not a medical book and is an easy read for parents and teenagers.
Much of Dr. Schwartz's work is based on hormonal balance and so
is The Teen Weight-Loss Solution. Dr. Schwartz does a very
good job in explaining what different hormones are and their functions,
especially when teenagers hit that wonderful time of their lives:
puberty.
Unfortunately,
The Teen Weight-Loss Solution focuses mostly on teenage
females with a small blurb about teenage males near the end of the
book. Yes, most teenagers that deal with weight issues are females
but more attention needs to be given to teenage males. The Teen
Weight-Loss Solution is also mainly focused on hormonal balance,
which is important to aid in finding out why, possibly, a teenager
or anyone for that matter is overweight. This reviewer was hoping
for a more complete overlook at weight-loss for teenagers.
The
Teen Weight-Loss Solution is a strong beginning for parents
of overweight teenagers that are looking for solutions to help their
teenagers. Hormonal balance is an important component to people's
well-being and should be looked at by more doctors, including pediatricians,
in order to aid overweight teenagers - should they want to lose
the weight
